Housing area design, St. Petersburg 2007-
Design in collaboration with HMV architects
Mistolovo is a new housing scheme on a 33 ha hilly site close to the City of St. Petersburg. The design was based on a winning architectural competition and consists of a master plan and building design of residential and public premises.
The project will bring a new type of residence in the form of City Villas to the Russian housing market.
The area is structured into smaller village-like units which are carefully located in the landscape. There are different types of 2-4 storey residential villas each consisting of 8 apartments varying in sizes.
Near the main entrance to the housing area there is a sports complex, a commercial centre and school buildings, which have also been masterplanned by Arkval.
The villas have colorful rendered elevations with pitched roofs and roof 'lanterns' to bring a unique character to the area.
